HELP Line is a free and confidential telephone hotline serving Albemarle County, the City of Charlottesville, and students of the University of Virginia. We are a student-run and student-operated program, staffed entirely by anonymous volunteers. Since we are run by UVA students we only operate during the academic year. We will be re-opening lines on Monday September 9, 2024 at 9am.
You can talk to us about any issue that you or a loved one are having and we will provide a judgement-free space to be heard. We handle calls of all kinds whether crisis or not.
We are not professionals, so we focus on referring callers to long-term services and providing short-term mental ease.
Free,Anonymous, Confidential, 24/7.
